Westland Middle School is hosting a Hispanic Family information Night on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Coffield Community Center, 2450 Lyttonsville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Staff members will be available to help families with course selection and the scheduling process for the 2012 - 2013 school year. Purchase your piece of CCES history with a 2011-2012 yearbook. The cost is $18. Download an order form after clicking on the link above. Free parent workshops give tips and tools to help children be successful in schools. Childcare and interpretation are provided. A free community forum and discussion on bullying will be held at the Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Westland MS will hold its annual Parent Information Night to assist parents in completing the registration process for the 2012-13 school year on Thurs., Feb. 2, 2012. Information on Youth and Family Services parenting classes is attached. Important information about parking at CCES and school day interruptions is attached. An automated system will replace the current pencil/paper visitor logs for visitors. Visitors' driver's licenses will be scanned, and those without identification will manually enter their information. Please read the attached letter for more information. Letters are also translated in Chinese, French, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Winter weather emergencies, such as snow and ice, may cause disruptions in school operations, including the closure of school, a delayed opening, or an early dismissal. Please be sure to talk to your child about what he/she should do in the event that school is dismissed early.
