Vision

Candlewood is committed to being a safe, caring and inclusive community that fosters respect for diversity, and values the social emotional and academic development of each student. 

Mission

We will provide students with a variety of opportunities and experiences to develop academic, social and emotional skills. We will maintain a safe environment that promotes engagement, curiosity and collaboration. We will teach and model respect for ourselves, others and our community, in order for our students to have a positive impact in the world.

Rainbow Picture Day

Let’s create a rainbow and show our true colors! On Friday, March 22 Candlewood will have a picture taken of the school as a whole in all our colors! Here are the grade level colors: 5th-Red; 4th-Orange; 3rd-Yellow; 2nd-Green; 1st-Purple; Kindergarten-Blue; Extensions-Pink; Staff-Rainbow/Tye Dye

Bingo Night

Bingo Night is coming back on Friday, April 12! Please consider donating small unopened toys, crafts, household items, or other items to be given out as prizes during Bingo. All donations can be made at the front office. We appreciate your contributions to help make it a fun evening for all involved!

Career Day

Career Day at Candlewood is coming! We are looking for volunteers to present at this year’s career day. Please consider joining us on Friday, April 19. Our students love to hear about your professions. Career Day runs from 9am to 11am. Click here for more information!

MCPS Passwords

Please do not change your Central Office assigned MCPS passwords. It is very important that students keep the passwords assigned to them. MCPS uses grade level-specific password requirements that allow us to ensure a balance of security and appropriate accessibility for a student’s age. For more information, click the link above.
