Spring Music Festival Trip

Every year, the music teachers plan a trip that includes a chance for our students to participate in a music festival; and the music office is filled with trophies from past performances. Students pay their own way for the trip; however, they are given opportunities to earn monetary credit toward the trip fee by participating in the citrus fruit fundraiser described below. Students can also ask their music teacher about receiving a partial scholarship (also funded by the fundraisers!). Adult chaperones are needed for the trip. This year's trip will be to Chicago, March 26-29, 2015. The required trip forms and registration information will be posted on the website. For questions or to volunteer, contact MusicBoostersBCC@gmail.com.

Fall Donation Request Campaign

Your financial support is needed more than ever to cover the many expenses of our high-quality music program, including the purchase of music, new instruments, instrument repairs and maintenance, sectional coaches and the Music Festival Trip scholarship fund. Letters will be sent out in early fall to the families of every music student requesting tax-deductible donations. Please respond generously. Download the Music Department Donation Request Form. For questions, contact MusicBoostersBCC@gmail.com.

Fall Fundraiser with our Music Teachers

Tune in for a special evening of music, food, and fun on Saturday, September 27, from 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm at the Edgemoor Club, 7415 Exeter Road. Enjoy Broadway hits performed by Marshall White and Friends, performances by Matthew Hoffman and Lisa Itkin, and food and beverages. Tickets are $35 per person by September 22; $40 after that date with all proceeds supporting B-CC Music. You may purchase tickets online if you have a student at B-CC or complete the offline form to reserve your place at this event. For questions or to volunteer, contact Karen Dubrow. We hope to see you at this fun event!

Citrus Fruit Sale

Music Ensemble students sell and then deliver delicious citrus fruit (including juicy oranges and tangerines, delicious apples, ripe grapefruit and great gift boxes) to family and friends. Customers may also choose to have fruit delivered directly to an address for an additional charge. Gift boxes of fruit make great holiday gifts for out-of-town family and friends. Students who sell fruit earn 40% of the sales profit in credit toward the Spring Festival Music Trip. Order online by October 31.
Volunteers are needed to help with the following tasks:
Fruit pick-up reminder phone calls made from your home (about 1 hour) a day or two before the customer pick-up day.
Fruit sorting (Some heavy lifting involved) on the fruit delivery day.
On the customer fruit pick-up day at the B-CC loading dock, music student volunteers earn service hours by helping load fruit into cars. Parents, please volunteer for a shift to supervise the students. For questions or to volunteer, contact Rachel Lostumbo.

Concert Concessions

The music department sells food and drinks donated by the families of music students at the Winter and Spring concerts. There are three nights of concerts to accommodate all the music ensembles at B-CC. Watch for requests to volunteer! For questions or to volunteer, contact MusicBoostersBCC@gmail.com.

Concert Supervision of Band Room

The band room remains unlocked during the Winter and Spring concerts to allow students to retrieve and return instruments and other belongings. Volunteers are needed to safeguard instruments and belongings. Watch for requests to volunteer! For questions or to volunteer, contact MusicBoostersBCC@gmail.com.

Cabaret & Silent Auction, Friday, February 13, 2015

This is the music department’s biggest fundraiser and also one of the most fun events to attend. There will be a silent auction, heavy hors d'oeurves, desserts, beverages, and entertainment from student ensembles -- jazz band, string quartet, and choral groups. Watch for requests to volunteer! For questions or to volunteer, contact MusicBoostersBCC@gmail.com.
