| Food and nutrition services staff attended a White House reception with First Lady Michelle Obama on Oct. 17, 2011. MCPS and other school districts were recognized for their work in ensuring that students receive healthy meals, nutrition education and physical activity. All 131 MCPS elementary schools and one special school were recognized. Obama’s national Let’s Move initiative focuses on taking steps to improve health and wellness and control obesity. |
