Computers
Each student is given a Chromebook to use at school. The Chromebook remains with them for the duration of the school year.
Families can request a student Chromebook for at-home use by filling out this form.
- The form is sent to the county who either approves or denies the request. The information is then passed on to the school's ITSS (IT Systems Specialist) who prepares the Chromebook, puts it in a bag, and provides a charger. Mrs. Hall then gives the filled Chromebook bag to the student or classroom teacher. This process can take anywhere from two-weeks to a month.
- At-home Chromebooks must be updated every two-months so they opperate correctly. Please follow these steps.
- Students can access their school profile from any device with internet and Google Chrome by using their Student ID number@mcpsmd.net and their school password. Please contact your child's classroom teacher if your child does not remember that information.
- Why do I need a device at home? Code Purple is in affect this year which means if we have snow days, students may be required to login to their profile and have virtual learning. Learn more about the different codes here.
Each student is financially responsible for damage or loss to any Chromebook and charger that is checked out to the student. The device is loaned to the student to be used for instructional purposes only and in accordance with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Regulation IGT-RA, User Responsibilities for Computer Systems, Electronic Information, and Network Security. No cost is associated for a student to borrow, possess, or use a Chromebook. A family is only financially responsible when there is avoidable damage to the device. If the device is faulty, there is no charge to the family; however, if the damage is considered avoidable or the device or charger is lost, the family will be charged according to MCPS current parts and replacement costs.
- Mrs. Ajasafe and Mrs. Frazier are the contact points for financial questions or concerns.
