Good afternoon SV Community,

Due to recent weather-related cancellations, we would like to provide an update on the status of athletic events, including rescheduled contests and postponements. Please review the information below carefully.

Updates from the Week of Cancellations

Tuesday, January 27

• Basketball games originally scheduled for this date will be made up on Tuesday, February 11, at the same times and locations.

Wednesday, January 28

• The wrestling match scheduled for this date will be made up on Saturday, February 7, at Poolesville High School.

Friday, January 30 (Please read carefully)

• Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Basketball vs. Northwest
  • Rescheduled to Thursday, February 19
  • Varsity-only games
  • Start time: 6:00 PM
  • Boys: Away at Northwest
  • Girls: Home
• JV Basketball vs. Northwest
  • The JV boys’ and girls’ games have been canceled and will not be made up.
• JV Schedule Adjustment
  • To account for the canceled JV games, both JV teams will have a game added:
    • Friday, February 6 vs. Poolesville
    • Originally scheduled as varsity-only, this will now be a JV/Varsity doubleheader
      • JV games: 5:30 PM
      • Varsity games: 7:15 PM
      • Boys: Home
      • Girls: Away at Poolesville
  • As a result, the JV season will be extended and will now conclude on February 11 (previously February 5).

Saturday, January 31

• Wrestling tri-match vs. Northwest and Clarksburg: Postponed, makeup date to be determined.
• Springbrook Pom Invitational: Canceled and will not be made up.
• Bocce Divisionals: Postponed, makeup date to be determined.
• Swim & Dive Divisional Championships: WILL TAKE PLACE as scheduled at the MLK Swim Center.

Please note that all practices and team-related activities are canceled at this time.
