Reflections Program

What is Reflections?

Seneca Valley High School is proud to participate in the National PTA Reflections Program, designed to enhance a quality arts education by providing opportunities for students to express themselves and receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts.  This national arts recognition and achievement program is over 40 years old.  Each year there is a specific theme upon which students base their work.

Who may participate?

The Seneca Valley Reflections Program is open to all students who may enter works of art for FUN and RECOGNITION in the following categories:

  • Literature
  • Visual Arts (drawing, painting, print making, collage)
  • Photography
  • Film Production
  • Dance Choreography
  • Musical Composition
  • Special Artist

What about judging?

Projects, which are submitted in the Fall, are judged on artistic merit, creativity and interpretation of the annual theme.  Judges are independent members of the community in the arts field who volunteer their time.  Only new pieces of artwork inspired by the theme are acceptable.  Entries must be the original work of only one student; teachers, parents, or friends are not permitted to assist students, except for those with visual or physical disabilities. There is no limit on the number of entries a student may submit.

Students are eligible for prizes provided by the SVHS PTSA and may be selected to go on to the county, state or national PTA level.
