National Honor Society

The National Honor Society was created over 75 years ago and has become a highly esteemed group in the high school setting. At Seneca Valley, we strive for excellence and are determined to be assets to the Germantown community. We are continually active throughout the school year as participants in walks for the needy, tutors to our peers, and leaders in our classrooms. The membership of the Seneca Valley Chapter of the National Honor Society has been earned by the effective demonstration of the four qualities held in high esteem by the Society. These qualities are Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

Students are eligible for membership as second semester juniors and seniors. They must have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average and have participated in school activities, made contributions to the community and have exhibited leadership characteristics. Students submit applications in the fall and spring of each school year.

PLEDGE

I pledge to maintain high scholastic standing, to hold as fundamental and worthy an untarnished character, to endeavor intelligently and courageously to be a leader, and to give of myself freely in service to others. In so doing, I shall prove myself worthy of a place in the National Honor Society.
