From the Desk of Your Cougar Principal, Dr. Lisa M. Gaillard-Jones
Hello Cougar Family! I am excited to continue our journey as your Proud Principal of the Cougar Family! It is my honor to serve you in this capacity. My leadership goals as your principal are as follows: (1)I am here to service you as your principal and will look out for the best interest of our students and our community, (2) I will focus our school endeavors to provide a conducive learning environment for all students for their academic, behavioral, and social emotional growth, (3) I will operate with integrity at the forefront of all of my decision making.
This is my second year as your appointed principal. Prior to my appointment as your principal, I was your assistant principal beginning July 1, 2017. I have been in Montgomery County Public Schools since 2000. I have had the pleasure of being an SSES Teacher at Damascus High School, Resource Teacher for Special Education (RTSE) in the SSES Department at Briggs Chaney Middle School, Assistant Principal at Cresthaven Elementary School, Special Education Teacher (Learning Center, Home School Model Resource) at Galway Elementary School, Resource Teacher for Special Education at A. Mario Loiederman Middle School, and Acting Principal at Rock Terrace School from October 2021-March 2023.
I am an instructional leader who is committed to all students learning at their highest level. I believe in and make data based decisions. I believe in collaboration and transparency among all stakeholders for the well being of students and staff. Therefore, it will be a priority to collaborate with all stakeholders to form productive partnerships for our school and ensure that our students receive the best education that will make them career ready by the time they leave us at age 21.
I support a nurturing, academic enriched environment. My husband and I have three children: two daughters-ages 28 and 26, and a son who is 16. In my free time, I love spending time with family, a trip to the spa, watching movies, trying different foods, and time away to rejuvenate my spirits in the Caribbean.
I look forward to the great things that we will do together on behalf of our students at Rock Terrace School. Cougar Pride!
