SILENT AUCTION RULES & PROCEDURES 

Thank you for participating in LAKELANDS PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL’S silent auction. Lakelands’ families and friends will need to register at the registration desk.  You will receive a bid number which will be used for bidding identification. Use this number when you place your bid on any item.   

Bidding in the silent auction will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.  Closing times for all sections will be 3:00 p.m.  A bid sheet listing the item and business/person who donated item, minimum opening bid and minimum raise amount will represent each silent auction offering.  Writing your bid number and bid amount on the bid sheet enters a bid.  Be careful to use only your assigned number.  An opening bid must meet or exceed the opening bid.  Each subsequent bid must exceed the previous bid by at least a minimum of $2.00-$10.00 as indicated on the bid sheet.  Bids not meeting these requirements will be disqualified. 

New this year is a “Buy it Now” option.  The “Buy it Now” option allows you to purchase the item for the price noted on the bid sheet.  This price is the estimated value of the item.  If you choose to take advantage of this option, write your bid number on the silent auction bidding sheet and indicate in the bid amount column the words “Buy it Now.”  Take the clipboard to the check out station and be prepared to pay for the item chosen.   

All purchases must be paid in full at the close of the auction. All checks are to be made payable to LAKELANDS PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL.  All sales are final, no refunds or exchanges are permitted unless specified in a particular offering and all items are sold “as is.”  Please read specifications and limitations carefully.  The school makes no warranties or representations of any kind with respect to any item or service sold.   

Upon purchase, the buyer waives any claim for liability against Lakelands Park Middle School, any individual connected with the auction on behalf of the school or the donor of the item or service.  Nor is the donor responsible for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from the use of the item or service.   

Values indicated for the auction items and services are “good faith estimates” of the value of the goods or services furnished, which are required by the Internal Revenue Code.   Your charitable contribution to the school is only that amount paid for the goods or services in excess of this estimate.  Consult your own tax advisor as to the deductibility of individual items.
