Staff Appreciation Week, May 4-8

It’s time to celebrate the incredible educators and staff who make Lakelands Park Middle School such an amazing place for our students! Our staff works tirelessly all year long, and we want to shower them with the appreciation they truly deserve.

Staff Appreciation Week is happening May 4 through May 8, and the PTA is planning a wonderful week of treats and surprises. To make it a success, we need your help!

Whether you can donate a few items or give a little bit of your time, every contribution makes a huge difference. Let’s come together as a community to show our staff how much we value everything they do.

Getting Ready for 2026-2027

The Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) is excited to welcome new families and is looking to make the 2026–27 school year a great one! We’re looking to grow our team with new volunteers and fresh ideas, and we would love to have you join us.

We have several open roles for next year:

    • Treasurer – Track finances, pay a couple of bills a month, help the Board gather data and submit annual filings once a year.
    • Back to School Social – Help coordinate this fun community event in late August/early September to welcome students to Lakelands. Coordinate with vendors to provide food and activities for students.
    • Book Fair Co-Chair – Assist with organizing the book fair in late Fall. Our current Chair has a rising 8th grader and is looking to share the role as it will be her last year at Lakelands.
    • NAACP Representative – Connect with MCCPTA monthly or quarterly and share updates and requests with our PTSA. This would be a great opportunity to connect with MCCPTA and be the first to know of upcoming changes from MCPS.
    • Bingo Night Coordinator – Support the media center 2–3 times a year by gathering donations and organize volunteer sign-ups through SignUpGenius. Our Media Center specialist does a fantastic job making this a fun night for families.
    • Sponsorship + Fundraising – A new role! We’re open to creative ideas and would love someone excited to help grow support for our school.

Whether you have a little time or a lot, there is a place for you to get involved. Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, support students and staff, and make a positive impact at Lakelands.

This year at Lakelands Park Middle School we are working together with school staff to encourage positive student behaviors. Students are recognized by staff with Falcon Bucks for exhibiting character traits that contribute to a positive climate. See below how you can help!

Donate: Additionally if you have leftover party favors or gift bag items in your home that you would like to donate please drop them in the box labeled "Falcon Bucks Store" in the office and we would be happy to repurpose them to the Falcon Bucks Store!

Volunteer: Please sign up to support our Falcon Bucks stores in each grade level area every other Friday morning. This opportunity does not involve the exchange of actual money. Volunteer here.
