Everybody Wins!
The Power Lunch Program
An inviting selection of books, two organized coordinators, amiable volunteers, and a group of eager students is the recipe of a very popular and successful program at Highland View, Everybody Wins! This non-profit children's literacy and mentoring program is committed to encouraging positive attitudes about reading in elementary school children. 38 students at Highland View eagerly participate in the Power Lunch Program. A variety of volunteers from our community serve as mentors to our students. The mentors are paired with students and meet once a week during lunch to enjoy a good book and conversation. The program coordinator is Lyn McGann who works closely with Sarah Kiefhaber, our school coordinator.
