Materials Distribution for ALL Students
This week, we will be holding another distribution event to hand out grade-level specific student learning materials for ALL students. It is important that everyone comes to Glenallan this week.
These will include literacy and math workbooks that students will need at home. In addition, students will receive a large pack of materials including whiteboards, erasers, a marker, and composition notebooks.
Additionally, if your student needs an upgraded Chromebook, one can be checked out on either of these days. Please plan to bring the old model and charger for return.
Our school will offer curbside pickup of learning materials and devices on August 26th from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and on August 28th from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. We ask you to follow the schedule provided below to limit crowds, wait times, and risks to the community.

Connecting with Teachers
On Monday, teachers will have access to their updated class lists and parents should expect to receive a welcome email message within the first day or two of this coming week. They will also be setting up their Class Dojo communities. Email service and Class Dojo will be the primary resources for communicating with parents during this school year.
Virtual Open House Activities
Classroom Open House Class Meeting & Sign Up Schedule for Individual Meetings
This year, homeroom teachers will be hosting two virtual meetings as part of our Open House efforts.
Grade level teachers will host a brief 10 minute class meeting at an assigned time on Thursday afternoon. And, we will be asking the parents of each student to sign up for an additional 10 minute mtg time to have individual time with assigned teachers. These meetings are informal opportunities to connect and begin getting to know each other. There will not be a presentation, nor is this a time to have detailed conversations about academics. Once the school year begins, teachers will host a formal “back to school night” meeting at which time detailed information about instruction and schedules will be shared.
Community Meetings this Week
Welcome to Kindergarten - Wednesday from 12:00 - 12:45 PM OR Thursday, August 27th from 6:00 - 6:45 PM. Interpreters for Spanish will attend the Thursday evening meeting.
