Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Project

Each year, schools in MCPS participate in service projects to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  This year, Clarksburg ES will be hosting a food drive to support the work of the Clarksburg Little Free Pantry located right here in Clarksburg, MD.

The Little Free Pantry applies a community and neighborhood involvement approach to conquer local food insecurity. It offers a place where neighbors can help neighbors. The Little Free Pantry's philosophy is to “Take what you need, leave what you don't (need), and donate when you can.”

The pantry is located on the property of Clarksburg Church, 2820 Frederick Road Clarksburg, MD 20871 and is open 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.  The goal of the pantry is to stay completely supplied with nutritious food so that no individual shows up to find the pantry empty in their time of need.

The CES food drive will run from Tuesday, January 17th - Thursday, January 26th.  We are asking students to bring in non perishable food items that they love to eat for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.  Boxes will be located outside of the main office for students and/or families to drop off their donations.

If you have any questions about the drive, please contact Mrs. Maureen Enstrom at Maureen_M_Enstrom@mcpsmd.org or Ms. Tori Livengood at Victoria_Livengood@mcpsmd.org

We thank you for helping us to support the important work of the Clarksburg Little Free Pantry!
