WCHS - Important Student ID Information
Montgomery County Public Schools and Winston Churchill High School continue to strive to create and maintain a safe school environment for all of our students. As one of our initiatives to maintain safety all high school students must have a Student ID when they enter the building and keep the ID on them at all times in the building. This will help our school keep unauthorized people out of our building during the school day, and help us ensure everyone is in the correct location.
At Churchill HS, we will be implementing this policy Day One of the year.
- Students must have their school provided Churchill ID with them at all times.
- Students will be required to present and display their Student ID’s when they enter the school building.
- The school year will start with the Student ID policy in place.
- All 9th/transfer students will be provided a high quality Churchill lanyard, an ID sleeve and generic Student ID (with name and grade) during homeroom. Returning students should utilize last year’s Student ID/lanyard.
- Students will not be required to have them after hours or during after school events, except in specific instances of higher threat alert.
- Students will be required to replace their generic ID or last year’s ID with their updated yearly ID after Photo Day. Seniors are provided their ID when they complete Senior Portraits.
- Students who forget to wear ID or misplace them will be required to get an alternate “Student” ID.
- Students who do not return the “alternate” Student ID will be issued a $25.00 obligation.
- Students who need a replacement ID, after receiving this year’s ID will get them in the main office for a $5.00 fee.
- Students who abuse this policy could face additional consequences for repeat failure to comply.
- All staff and contractors will be required to also wear their Staff ID’s throughout the building.
Please work with your young adult and remind them about wearing their Student ID.
