MCPS 250th Anniversary eBook Opportunity
MCPS is creating a special eBook to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States and is inviting one submission from each school. Students are encouraged to showcase their creativity by submitting a poem, essay, artwork, musical piece, or performance inspired by the theme “Many Voices, One Nation.”
We would love for Burtonsville Elementary School to be represented! If your child is interested in participating, please have them submit their entry by April 29 to Mrs. Kinhart.
Additional details can be found in the attached flyer.
2026–2027 Kindergarten: Kindergarten registration is being held online through the ParentVUE portal. Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2026 are eligible. If your family is new to MCPS, you will need to create a ParentVue account here.
2026–2027 Prekindergarten and Head Start Enrollment: Free prekindergarten is available to income-eligible families with children who will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2026. Prekindergarten and Head Start registration is happening online or in-person at community locations during March.
