The White House is inviting kids from around the country to submit ideas on important science, innovations, and technology issues.

 Last Day of School

 Montgomery County Public Schools were closed for six days this winter but only had four days built into the school calendar.  A one-day waiver of the 180-day school year was approved on Monday by the Maryland State Department of Education.  This means that the last day of school will be Monday, June 20, 2016. This last day will be an early release day as well as the day of the 8th grade promotion ceremony.

 School Climate Survey

MDS3, a partnership between the Maryland State Department of Education, Johns Hopkins University, and Sheppard Pratt Health System, are asking parents of Wood students to complete an anonymous on-line survey about the environment at Wood. The survey will require about 10 minutes of your time and can be accessed from any computer. Although your participation is voluntary, we hope you will take a few minutes to let us know how we are doing. The George B.  Radon in Schools 



Wood was recently retested for radon gas, and the results show that our radon levels are below the Environmental Protection Agency recommended action level. For more information about radon, please read the Montgomery County Public Schools Indoor Air Quality document. A Spanish version and Spanish letter is available.
