It provides an opportunity for children to be introduced to the world of work and for them to find out what their parents do at work. If your child will be absent on April 24, 2014 to participate in "Take Your Child to Work Day" please submit a note, in advance, requesting that he/she be excused from school on April 24, 2014 for this purpose. Dr. Starr has written an open letter to parents regarding the need for a communitywide dialogue on how we teach our children to be safe and civil online. He wrote the letter in response to several inappropriate comments that were made to him on Twitter during the week of 12/9/13 as the school system was deliberating whether to close school due to the weather. The letter can be viewed on the MCPS website at www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/cybercivility.
