ACCESS for ELLs Test - English Language Proficiency Assessment

ACCESS for ELLs is the state-mandated test of English language proficiency administered to ESOL students annually. The test results are used to demonstrate the progress MCPS and Maryland State ESOL students are making in speaking, listening, reading and writing. We will be administering the assessment beginning January 8th.

All students currently enrolled in the ESOL program will be taking the assessment. Also, any student who was identified for ESOL service but did not participate in ESOL classes will be assessed. The test results will be shared with the parents when they are available in spring.
