8th Grade Team

We are looking forward to celebrating the 8th graders’ achievements during their time with us at Silver Spring International Middle School.

Below is the information and requirements for the two End-of-the-Year Events: Promotion Ceremony and 8th grade Celebration Field Trip.

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony: Thursday, June 15th at Northwood High School 6:30-8pm

-This year, due to the size of the promoting 8th grade class, and the limited space at Northwood High School, only two (2) family admission tickets will be provided for each 8th grader who attends the Promotion ceremony. These tickets are required for entry into the Northwood Auditorium. 8th grade students will not need a ticket. Two overflow room tickets will be available. Ticket holder will watch the ceremony via simulcast in the Northwood HS cafeteria.

**Parents must pick up the tickets in the Main Office at SSI from May 31stto June 9th. Interested families can sign-up on the wait list at this time with Ms. Torres in the main office. NOTE: If additional tickets remain, families on the wait list may only be able to receive (1) additional family ticket.

If a parent is unable to pick up the tickets, they must send in written permission for their child to pick up the tickets**  

8th Grade Field Trip: Wednesday, June 14th at Six Flags America, Upper Marlboro, Maryland

-The 8th graders will celebrate the end of the year at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, MD for a full day of roller coasters, water park, and other activities.

-The cost for this celebration will be $56 which includes admission to the facilities, bus transportation, lunch, and entertainment.

Here are the Requirements for Participation in the 8th Grade End of the Year Events:

-Obligations:All Financial Obligations must be Cleared prior to the Event. To be cleared you must have returned all classroom or Media Center materials or you have paid for all items that are missing. All obligations are due by Friday, May 19th.

-Behavior- NO Out-of-School Suspensions, Office Referrals, or Excessive Tardies After May 5, 2017
