Black-Eyed Susan Book Award Program

The Black-Eyed Susan Book Award (BES) is a children's choice book award for the state of Maryland.  The award honors outstanding picture books, chapter books, and new this year, graphic novels!

Students get to pick the winning books in each category by voting for their favorite.  Voting takes place in the middle of April.

The Media Center will have multiple copies of each book for students to check out.  Many of these books are also available in the public library. The BES program is a voluntary program.
