PTA Home Page

Dear Parent/Guardian:

On behalf of the Oak View/New Hampshire Estates Parent Teachers Association (PTA), we welcome you to what promises to be an exciting new school year.

The PTA, in collaboration with the teachers from NHE and Oak View, strives every year to create new programs that enhance the learning experience for the students, gives recognition to teachers and staff, and facilitates your involvement in your child's education. We encourage you to become a member of the PTA and to participate in all the activities planned for the 2010-2011 school year.  You do not need to be a member to volunteer.

New Hampshire Estates' Parent/Child Reunification Plan

Every Montgomery County Public School is required to have a Parent/Child Reunification (PCR) Plan in place. This plan is for an orderly and efficient process of re-uniting children with their parents/guardians after an emergency or crisis. The NHE primary reunification site is the gymnasium. Parents will enter the building through the door to the gym hallway. There will be staff members stationed there to check identification of everyone entering the building. Parents/guardians will be directed to the gym where tables will be set up alphabetically according to the students' last names. They will be asked to show their identification again to be identified as a person listed on the yellow emergency cards in order for the student to be released to them. Staff members will go get the children and bring them to the gym where they will be re-united with their parents/guardians. Before leaving the building with their child(ren), parents/guardians will be asked to sign the reunification log. Parents/guardians and students will exit the building through the gym door to the side parking lot. If the gym is not available for this process, we will use the playground blacktop immediately behind the cafeteria for the PCR site.
