 About Miss Alban

Greetings Monocacy Bobcats! I am honored to be the principal of Monocacy Elementary School. I am proud to be working with the team at Monocacy that believes all children will be successful. I look forward every day to working with a dedicated staff and community, continuing to provide all students with a positive educational experience through a high level instructional program.

I was born in Baltimore, Maryland but grew up in Damascus in Montgomery County. I am a proud graduate of Damascus High School in Montgomery County. I received a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology with a minor in Education from James Madison University. I went on to get a Masters in Deaf and Hard of Hearing at McDaniel College and began my career teaching deaf students in Texas. Later, I moved back to Montgomery County and began teaching fourth grade at Wayside Elementary School. I then got my certification in administration and supervision from Towson University. Currently I am in a doctoral program for Educational Leadership at Bowie State University. This will be my 26th year in education, 15 years of that as an administrator in Montgomery County Public Schools.

I currently live in Clarksburg, Maryland. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, kayaking and taking photographs outdoors. I am also a big sports fan and love to watch the Ravens and Orioles!

I am excited to serve as the principal of Monocacy ES. As your principal, my goal is to focus on effective communication, maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment, and making sure that our students continue to achieve at high academic levels. I will continue to build upon the successes at Monocacy while working to improve every day. I am proud to be a Monocacy Elementary Bobcat!
