Community Message

Dear Lakewood Family:

News of war or natural disasters can elicit feelings of anxiety and uncertainty. As a school community, we strive to care for one another and provide support when needed.  In difficult times, it is important that we demonstrate care and compassion in an environment where all voices are heard and respected.

We must be available to support our scholars as they cope with emotions and help make sense of what they are hearing and seeing. Our counselor, school psychologist, and administrative team will be available to speak with scholars. Please encourage your child to contact their trusted adult in the building. That adult could be any staff member in the building with whom they feel safe to share their thoughts.

Lakewood  Elementary School can be a shining example of inclusivity and unity in these challenging times.

Sincerely,
Dr. Kelly
