The therapy department at Stephen Knolls is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of therapists who support and enhance the work being performed in the classrooms to implement the students’ individualized education programs (IEPs).
The team consists of occupational and physical therapists as well as speech and language pathologists who infuse activities of daily living, communication, and mobility into the classroom curricula. Their therapies are provided in any area of the school that is most relevant to the learning activity being supported or enhanced.
Additionally, Stephen Knolls has a motor room equipped with state of the art mobility equipment, a Snoozelen Sensory room, and a fully equipped vocational work room. All of our therapists keep up to date with the latest developments in their respective fields by attending continuing education courses that address evolving curricula, technology, and therapeutic skills.
