Media Center Goals

We believe that a quality media center program is a fundamental right for all students and the entire school community.  We will strive to extend to each student respect, fairness, encouragement and equal opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills to become life-long learners by:

• providing quality resources to meet the needs of a diverse student population
• teaching strategies needed for critical and analytical evaluation of information
• providing equal assess to technology, print and non print materials
• motivating students to do independent research
• enabling students to select and retrieve information from a variety of sources
• promoting reading and appreciation of literature

Usage and Materials

The media center is open from 9:00-3:30.  Students have the opportunity to select and check out books during media class each week and during the day with their teacher’s permission.  Students are encouraged to return books on time so they can select/check out new books.
