Winter Concert
The instrumental students and the chorus gave another stellar performance at our annual winter concert. Under the direction of Ms. Underdue, our instrumental music teacher, musicians played the following pieces:
Beginning brass and flute musicians performed: “The Whole Thing,” “Go Tell Aunt Rhodie,” “March Steps,” and “Hot Cross Buns.”
Beginning clarinet musicians performed: “Au Claire de la Lune,” a Mozart Melody,” and “Lightly Row.”
Beginning string musicians performed: “Bow Demonstrations on the D and A Strings,” “For Pete’s Sake- cello section,” “Natalie’s Rose” and “Song for Christine.”
Advanced violins performed: “Along the Way,” “Firoliralera,” and “Candle Dance.”
Advanced band performed: “Ode to Joy,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Cardiff Castle.”
Ms. Pfaff, Highland View’s general music teacher, led the spirited chorus in singing “Who Has Seen the Wind?” a poem by Christina Rossetti. They also sang, “Autumn Leaf,” “Journey to Winter,” an original piece written by Ms. Pfaff, “My Favorite Things” and ended the concert with a beautiful rendition of “A Song of Peace.”
