  • Darnestown ES - Kindergarten Orientation

According to Maryland State Law, a child must be five years old by September 1st in order to enter kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year.  If you have a child who will be entering kindergarten this fall, please contact the Main Office on 301-840-7157. DES Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2012.  There will be NO SCHOOL for current Kdg. students on that day.  Future Kindergarten parents will be notified of scheduled times for Orientation in April.

  • Spirit Days!

Keep checking here for upcoming Spirit Day information!  We will have another day scheduled soon!

  • Pennies for Patients!

February brings the DES Pennies for Patients campaign.  Beginning Feb. 1 and through Feb. 22, we will be collecting donations for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Pennies for Patients program.  Students may donate coins, bills or checks (made out the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) into collection boxes in their classrooms.  Donating to the cause helps students realize the Character Counts pillar - Caring.  The total donation amount will be announced at our Feb. 24 Town Meeting.
