School Closings
The most common reason for closing school is because of snow. These closings are county-wide and are reported on local television and radio stations. Media reports generally begin at 6 a.m. for all-day closures and at 11:00 a.m. for early closings. When school opens late, the buses do run. Be sure to have a plan, and a back-up for your child in the case of early closings.

Absences and Late Arrivals
If your child will be out of school for a day or longer, please call the school to report his or her absence. For your convenience, an answering machine is on during the week from 5 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., and 24 hours a day on the weekend. Please leave the following information: child's name, child's teacher, date of absence, and reason for absence. If your child arrives late or must leave early, the child must be signed in or out of the office.
Early Release
On "early release" or "half" days, students attend class from 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children who normally take the bus home in the afternoon will catch the same bus at 1.
