  • Kindergarten Orientation May 2nd and May 3rd

    On Monday May 2nd and Tuesday May 3rd, there will be Kindergarten Orientation at Burtonsville.  If you have a kindergarten age child or know someone who does, please contact the office to sign up for kindergarten orientation.  Kindergarten classes will be cancelled on these two days.  Click here to read a letter about Kindergarten Orientation.

  • Art Show, Graphic Novel Fair, and Family Market May 10th

    BURTONSVILLE ELEMENTARY STUDENT ART SHOW And Graphic Novel Fair TUESDAY, MAY 10th, 2016 , 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm Every student will display a fabulous piece of original artwork from this school year! Browse the beautiful artwork displayed throughout the school.Place a special award sticker on your favorite piece!Shop for age-appropriate graphic novels in the Media Center!A portion of the proceeds from the Graphic Novel Fair go to our school.Visit the Family Market (5:00- 7:00)  (Students should be accompanied by their parents.)Click here for a printable flier.

  • Thanks, PTA, for Bringing Us Author Barry Louis Polisar

    Students and teachers enjoyed Barry Louis Polisar's visit on April 21st.  Big thanks to our PTA for bringing us this author.  Since Barry lives less than a mile away, he says he can take additional orders for autographed books or CD's.  Forms are being sent home with students.  Please send orders and payment (checks payable to the PTA) by Friday, April 29th.

  • Important Yearbook Information

    TIME SENSITIVE NOTICE: Dedication space within the 2015-2016 yearbook is now available for friends and families of 5th graders. ALL 5th graders can have a FREE baby picture included. Also parents can buy a Full Page for $100; 1/2 Page for $50; and 1/4 Page for $25.  All photos and text MUST be in by Monday, April 25th. The sooner the better.  Please send ad size, photos, and text or questions to burtonsville.yearbook@gmail.com. Payment must be sent with your child in a sealed envelope through their teacher and addressed to BES PTA Yearbook Ad.

  • Pennies for Patients Totals as of April 5

    Burtonsville Elementary School Fundraising Update as of 4-5-16K- $193.07  Grade 1- $479.94  Grade 2-$565.53    Grade 3- $395.07   Grade 4-$208.79     Grade 5-$356.63 Future deposits will be taken to the bank at 3:00 PM on April 8th.There will be a treat for the grade level that raises the most donations for Pennies for Patients!  *The fundraising drive will end on April 8th.
