Donuts For Dads
The November “Donuts for Dads” was one of our finest. Sponsored by the Briggs Chaney NAACP Parent’s Council, there were over 15 Dads who came out on Veteran’s Day for our 3rd annual event. Led by BCMS Assistant Principal Eric Jackson, the participating fathers seemed to appreciate the opportunity to discuss their kids, their approach to fatherhood and their efforts to aid in their children’s academic success. It was a great opportunity for men and fathers from all walks of life to come together and unite in a common goal to support their children. It was also awesome to see so many different nationalities represented in our school: Our participating fathers hailed from United States, Jamaica, & Haiti. With help from Edline SuperUser Ms. Ramona Justice, several men signed up for Edline, an on-line tool designed to help parents manage their grades and classroom assignments. By all accounts, “Donuts for Dads” has become a wonderful, reflective experience for our BCMS school/family community.
