Common Sense Media:

We have created a wishlist of books and other materials that we would like to purchase throughout the school year. The list has been created with great thought by Ms. Schwartz and Ms. Newman. It includes requests made by students, teachers and parents, new books, suggestions from social media and journals, and replacing of books that have been well loved.

Maryland Black Eyed Susan Program

The BES is a children's choice award for the state of Maryland. The award honors outstanding picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels. Each year 15 picture books. 10 chapter books, and 10 graphic novels are nominated for the award and students in the state of Maryland vote for the winning books in each category. Students receive information on this award in the Fall and are encouraged to read the books throughout the year so we can vote in April. Book trailers can be found on the website and information sheets that students can use to track their thoughts - Picture Books, Chapter Book, and Graphic Novels
