Dr. Peter Bray, Principal

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.  Belmont Elementary School is a warm and friendly neighborhood elementary school nestled in the heart of the Olney Mill community of homes.

Our school is made up of approximately 325 students in grades kindergarten through grade five.

We have a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) with literally thousands of hours of parent volunteer time logged annually.  Our PTA supports monthly events for our families including Bingo nights, Spelling Bees, Basket Night and our very popular Annual Variety Show – to name a few events.  The money raised by any of the PTA fundraisers goes directly to the students of our school.

Our school has an open door policy.  Parents are welcome to come and visit our classrooms at any time without prior notice.  We do ask that, for security reasons, parents check into the office first and wear a “Visitor’s Pass” as they move about the school building.

We ask parents to let us know if there is a problem at school.  We cannot help our students to work through the problems they might have if we do not know what they problem is.  We also ask parents to let us know how we might help their student either academically or with assistance from our professional school counselor.  Working together we can do a lot more than each of us trying to do things separately.

We invite you to come and visit our school.  Please feel free to call and ask questions or set up an interview with me if you would like.  Our telephone number is 301-924-3140.  We look forward to hearing from you.
