PAWS and PBIS

Belmont Elementary School uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. We use the acronym PAWS (Positive Attitudes Will Succeed) in order to inspire our students.

The PAWS Incentive Program is a school-wide program that is designed to improve the overall academics and behavior of the school environment; therefore improving the success of all students.

The PAWS Incentive Program focuses on three target behaviors for success. We expect everyone at BES to be: Kind, Prepared, and Safe.

As a part of the program, when students demonstrate the target behaviors, they are to be rewarded with a choice between PAWS  Tickets or PAWS Stickers  Students turn in the tickets in order to have a chance to draw weekly prizes including school supplies, homework passes, additional charms, and cafeteria fast passes.  In addition, a bulletin board displays the pictures of weekly winners.
