Hello Argyle Families,
We will be offering six summer orientation sessions for incoming 6th graders. This is an opportunity for your child to become familiar with the building, meet new friends, and speak with Argyle Student Ambassadors. Multiple dates are available. Please sign your child up for one of the sessions.
Local Summer School Program is happening July 10 th -July 28 th
from 7:45am to 11:30am . We look forward to having students gain
enrichment during our 3 week program in Reading, Math, or Technology so that
they can start off the next school year with a BANG!

Keep up with your summer reading by clicking on the Board and make a choice of activities. Directions: Select a total of three tasks as directed on the board. You can submit hard-copies or online products to show your English teacher your work.
REMINDER Maryland State law requires that the following student groups provide proof of 1 tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) and one meningococcal (MCV4) vaccination in order to start school on September 5, 2017: Students entering Grade 7 Students newly enrolling in a Maryland school in Grades 8, 9, and 10 Students who are repeating Grade 10 You must provide proof of vaccination to your student’s school by September 5, 2017.
Two long time Argyle educators are retiring. Mr. Geoff Edgar, Assistant Principal and Mrs. Betsy Johnson, Technology Teacher, are moving on to their next chapter. Good luck in your new phase in life!
The Promotion is on Thursday, June 15th from 9am - 11am at Kennedy High School. 8th graders will be celebrated and awards will be given for completion of middle school. PLEASE NOTE:This year the promotion ceremony has been moved to Kennedy High School, each 8th grader will only be given 2 tickets per family to attend the ceremony. Students are encouraged to dress to impress. Transportation from Argyle to Kennedy will NOT be provided.
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has posted the results of the 2016 Partnership for Assessment for Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), Maryland School Assessment and High School Assessments on the Maryland Report Card (www.mdreportcard.org) website. Argyle Middle School is offering SUMMER SCHOOL classes in READING, MATH or Technology for rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Classes students take will consist of a review of concepts learned during the previous school year, as well as a preview of curriculum students will be taught during the 2017-2018 school year. Our three (3) week program will be held from Monday, July 10th through July 28th from 8:00 AM to 11:15 AM. There will beapproximately 20 students enrolled in each class to guarantee more one-on-one time with the teacher. The cost of our three (3) week program, which includes transportation (activity bus routes only), breakfast, and lunch is $235. A student may qualify for a partial payment. Please see the registration form for more details. Additionally, students enrolled by our registration DEADLINE of Friday, June 9th will be entered into a lottery to attend the Excel Beyond the Bell (EBB) Montgomery County Recreation FREE summer camp offered right after summer school. Students will be enrolled on a first come, first serve basis and class sizes are limited!!! The DEADLINE for registration forms is Friday, June 9th.
