Standardized Testing for Juniors (and selected Sophomores)
SAT Preparation Class – January 27th through April 29th, 2010
- Session occur on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30pm until 3:30pm
ACT Mock Test – January 30th, 2010
- ACT score compared to SAT score to determine which test is most appropriate for each student. Necessary to take ACT test preparation during second semester.

Day in the Life of a Biology Major at the University of Maryland- CP (March 1st or 2nd week)

Students in AP Biology meet with medical school students from USUHS on Saturday mornings to review materials covered in the course.
Jenn Wood, Quang Nguyen, Ademir Espinal, and Leuk Woldeyonnes attended the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Holiday Lectures in Bethesda, MD where scientists spoke about the quest to develop new medicines by understanding biodiversity.
Phung Tran and Quang Nguyen are representing Wheaton High School with applications to earn the prestigious Howarnd Hughes Medical Institute summer internship program.
A group of Bioscience Academy students will travel to Sargent Shriver Elementary School in January to present at their Science Night.
Students in Medical Interventions will take a field trip to the Koshland Science Museum in January to view their infectious disease unit. The study of infectious diseases and vaccinations were the focus of study for the students during first semester.
Andy Nguyen and Henry Espinoza are part of Learn Serve International where they are designing a plan to enhance the lives of other people by tackling a social problem. Andy is exploring microfinancing in developing countries and Henry is creating a program to teach art to children.
