Ms. Maggie Delaney, Art TeacherHi! My name is Maggie Delaney and I am the art teacher! This is my first year teaching art at Westover ES and I am overjoyed to be here. I received my BFA in Fine Art from Salisbury University and then went on to earn my MFA at The Pennsylvania Academy of the arts. Besides making and teaching art, I also love to read, hike, garden, and spend lots of time with my husband, Tony, and our dog, Pippin:-) I can't wait to create with you all this year! |
Mr. Peter Frassrand, Music TeacherOriginally from Detroit, I’ve called the DC area home for almost 30 years. I’ve taught in MCPS schools for 23 of those years, and my kids are products of MCPS schools too. In my classroom, I try to expose kids to many different kinds of music, and to many ways of making music. When I’m not teaching or hanging out with my family, I perform as a jazz pianist around town. And my favorite animals are wallabies and wolverines, the mascots of Westover and the University of Michigan, where I went to college. |

Mr. Jacob Havins, PE TeacherHi, I’m Jacob Havins, and this is my second year teaching at Westover Elementary School. I grew up in Sykesville, Maryland, a small town located in southern Carroll County—and I still live there today. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University. Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym, running, hiking, playing disc golf, listening to music (my favorite artist is Taylor Swift🙂), and spending time with my family, friends, my cat, and two dogs. I’m excited to be back at Westover ES, where I have the opportunity to teach physical education, help students develop sports skills, and promote healthy active lifestyles both during and beyond the school day. |
