Happy Summer From KPES

Message from Principal Ross' end of year message (June 18, 2026):
As students begin their well-deserved summer break, our staff will also take time to recharge, spend time with their families, and prepare for another successful year ahead.
The main office will remain open during the summer with limited hours, so please call ahead before visiting. Meanwhile, our building services team will be hard at work completing deep summer cleaning and preparing the building while we also host summer learning programs.

Save the Dates: Transition Day Is Aug. 24; School Begins Aug. 25
Yes, we have wrapped up one school year, but the 2026–2027 school year is not far behind!
Student Transition Day is coming up Monday, Aug. 24. This will be the second year MCPS will kicking off a new school year with Transition Day, a full-day initiative in the 2026–2027 calendar designed to ease the transition for students entering new school levels or buildings by fostering belonging, familiarity and preparedness before all students return to school. More information on Transition Day will be coming this summer. The first day of school for all students is Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The fairs will provide opportunities to directly connect with their schools; get help with ParentVue, Chromebooks and academic supports; learn about mental health, special education, multilingual services and transportation; participate in wellness screenings, get information on food and nutrition services and much more.
The fairs will be a wonderful opportunity for families to learn about the school system, county programs, after-school opportunities, family resources and a little fun! Fair locations and times are being finalized, so stay tuned for more information over the summer.
Thank you for another wonderful year of partnership, support, and school spirit. We wish all of our KP families a safe, relaxing, and joy-filled summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in August for another year of learning, growth, and success.
