About MYP

What is the Middle Years Programme (MYP)?

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a vital component within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum, consisting of four main parts.  This challenging framework is designed to foster practical connections between students' academic studies and real-world applications.

Implemented over a span of five years, the MYP can be collaboratively executed between schools.  For instance, Neelsville Middle School operates within the Watkins Mill Cluster, alongside Montgomery Village Middle School and Watkins Mill High School.  Students transitioning to Seneca Vally High School also have the opportunity to further their IB education.  Completion of the MYP equips students with strong readiness for advancing into the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the Career-related Programme (CP).
