First grade is very proud of our informative texts on Maryland and a region of the USA. Ask your child about some natural or human-made attractions in their region of the USA. Come and see them in the first grade hallway!
We are also working on identifying the main idea and details in a non-fiction text. Read your child a non-fiction text and ask them to identify the title, the main idea and the details that support the main idea.
In math, first grade is working on finding the missing addend in an addition and subtraction number sentence.
