I was raised in a small town called Keo, Arkansas. I went to Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. I wanted to be a lawyer before I decided to become a teacher. When I was growing up, jump rope was my favorite game because I played it with my sisters. My most memorable book character is the Cat in the Hat. I always wanted to meet a cat that could walk upright and talk! My favorite aspect of teaching is discovery. I love it when students discover something new.
