The Head Start Program at Washington Grove Elementary
School is a full-day, federally funded program for income-eligible four-year
olds. It is designed to prepare children with the foundational knowledge and
skills necessary to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
The full-day Head Start program provides a strong
emphasis on literacy and mathematics, with age-appropriate science, social
studies, art, music, technology, and physical education experiences. Parents
are encouraged to be in close contact with staff and to visit the classroom
often in order to be fully involved in children’s learning.
