Welcome to PEP!
The Preschool Education Program (PEP) is a non-categorical program serving children with a variety of disabilities who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Many of the children receive related services such as speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, and/or physical therapy. The MCPS Prekindergarten curriculum is utilized daily for instruction and is integrated with student IEP goals and objectives. Washington Grove is proud to have four PEP classes.
Ms. Sydni Mitchell teaches one of our 5 hour classes. Mrs. Dasti and Mrs. Ehrlich help support the children in this class and the class size is kept small. The children in this class are 3 or 4 years old.
Ms. Mollard teaches on of our 2.5 hour classes. The AM and PM classes meet 5 days a week for 2.5 hours. Mrs. Fleming supports both of these classes daily. The PM students are typically 4 years old and also work closely with Mrs. Fitzgerald’s Pre-K class on preschool activities and learning objectives, as they are preparing for Kindergarten in the following school year.
Mrs. Baker also has an AM and PM class that meet 5 days a week for 2.5 hours. Mrs. Applebaum supports both of these classes.
Mrs. Mueller teaches our other 5 hour class which meets 5 days a week. Students are 3 and 4 years old and the class size is kept small. Some of the students in this class need support for physical and medical needs. Mrs. Novicio will continue to support this class and we are pleased to welcome Mrs. Vallario to our program this year.
