Media Center Information

Hours: 8:30 AM-3:30 PM

Open Library for Students: 8:45-9:10 AM Daily

Students may visit the media center before school during Open Library or anytime during the school day with permission from the classroom teacher.

We encourage children to visit often!

Mission and Vision:

Our mission is to provide students and staff with access to books, technology, ideas, information, and other learning opportunities.

We strive to instill a love of learning and literature, facilitate access to information, and help media center patrons become effective users of information.

We will do this by:

Acquiring, promoting, and sharing high-quality books and literature
Managing and teaching about ways to access information
Embedding and integrating the information literacy standards with the classroom curriculum to teach information literacy at all grade levels

Circulation Guidelines:

Kindergarten and Grade 1 are allowed to check out 1 book.
Grade 2 is allowed to check out 2 books.
Grades 3 and 4 are allowed to check out 3 books.

Magazines and graphic novels may be checked out one at a time by students in grades 2-4.

Playaways and CDs may be checked out by Grade 4 students with signed parent permission.

Books are due two weeks from the day they are checked out. Students may renew books if they have not finished reading their books by the due date. Students are encouraged to bring back their books as soon as they are finished reading them so that others may enjoy them. No fines will be incurred for overdue books, but students are responsible for paying for lost or books damaged beyond repair.
