A conversation about education in Montgomery County will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville.  The Equity in Education Forum is being presented by The George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy, Inc., and will bring together a cross-action of educators, government officials and businesses.


Featured guest speakers will be Princess R. Moss, secretary-treasurer, National Education Association, and Dr. DeRionne P. Pollard, president, Montgomery College.  Other speakers will include MCPS Superintendent Jack R. Smith, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, Montgomery County Councilmember Craig Rice and Vice President of Corporate Relations for Pepco Holdings Debbi Jarvis.


The event will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. (with breakfast and networking from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.).  The cost is $40 per person.  Sponsorship opportunities are available.


The George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy, Inc. signature program is Saturday School, which offers affordable academic support and tutoring at 12 locations for Montgomery County students in Grades K-12.
