Mrs. Calo

Mary Calo Hi! My name is Mary Calo and this is my third year at Sequoyah ES, but I have been a teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools for a long time! I have had the opportunity to teach grades 1,2,3, and 4. I am certified to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages as well as Special Education. I graduated from Mt. St. Mary’s University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and from Hood College with a Masters of Arts in Human Sciences - Elementary Math and Science. I grew up in Rockville and attended MCPS schools. I now live in Frederick with my husband, Bob, and our two dogs, Marti and Jackie. I enjoy traveling, especially to warm, tropical locations, shopping, walking my dogs, and curling up with a good book.

Mrs. Carpel         carpeltam
I am a native of Montgomery County schools (Mill Creek, Redland, and Magruder) and have been teaching in Montgomery County for 24 years, during which I have been a 2nd grade classroom, reading, and ESOL teacher. I graduated from the University of Maryland and I also received a Masters of Reading through John Hopkins and became certified in Special ED and ESOL. I love working with many types of students but especially the younger students because I like to watch their minds grow. When I am not spending time working with children, I am spending time with my wonderful husband as an empty nester, since my 1 daughter is in college and my other daughter has unfortunately and unexpectedly went to Heaven. I also love to spend cuddly and walking time with my 2 dogs and try to find time for my favorite passions of reading and traveling!
