Attendance
If your child is absent for any reason, please call the school office at 240-740-5260. Parents may leave a message about absent students on the school's answering machine. Please give your child's name, teacher, and the reason for absence. You must also send a signed note when your child returns to school.
When a child needs to leave early, please send a note which provides information about the early departure. A child must be picked up by the parent or guardian and signed out in the main office. Prior written authorization from a legal guardian and picture identification is required for a relative or childcare provider to sign out a child.
Students will be recorded as absent for a full day if they are present for one hour or less. Students will be recorded as AM or PM absent if they are absent from school for more than one hour of the school day.
