Word Scramble

Introduction/Purpose: 

This activity helps students to practice spelling their spelling words or Word Wall words. The word is divided into letters and “scrambled”. Students put letters back together to spell the word correctly.

Materials Needed:

·        Word Wall words or spelling list (See Resources)

·        Paper and pencil

·        Scissors

Steps:

·        Cut a piece of paper into strips.

·        On each strip write the word to be practiced and cut the letters apart. Example:

·        Mix up the letters and have the student rearrange them so they spell the word correctly.
