HEALTH ROOM

The Health Room provides first aid, sick care and medication/treatment administration during the school day. The School Nurse case manages and develops health care plans for individual students with health conditions, monitors immunizations and communicable disease, and provides health promotion and education. DHHS provides vision and hearing screening annually for students new to MCPS, Kindergarten, follow up with first grade students and any student referred by MCPS staff or their parents. Free Flumist clinics are offered pending availability of vaccine in the Fall for all students enrolled in MCPS.

School Based Health Center Information (SBHC)

The SBHC works with Linkages to Learning to provide both medical and psychosocial services in a familiar and family friendly environment. 
The SBHC provides medical health care for students enrolled at GES that have completed the enrollment consent forms. Medical care includes physicals, sports physical, health screening, immunizations, medications, Lab testing, access to dental care , health education and counseling. All students regardless of insurance status may enroll in the SBHC.

Linkages to Learning

Linkages to Learning School-based Health Ctr LogoLinkages to Learning is a school-based collaboration among the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Montgomery County Public Schools and non-profit, community based service providers. The program provides accessible services to at-risk children and their families to improve adjustment to and performance in school, home, and community. Prevention and early intervention services include health, mental health, social services and educational support.
