MC Summer Youth Programs
Montgomery College Youth Programs is offering over 200 exciting courses/camps in its Summer Youth Programs for students in grades K– 12 who want to do something really different during the summer. The nine-week program runs from June 16 – August 15, 2008. Course schedules and descriptions are posted on our website (www.montgomerycollege.edu/youth).

Art and the Ocean
NOAA's partner, Coastal America through their Coastal Ecosystem Learning Center (CELC) members are sponsoring an ocean art contest open to students in grades K-12 and college and university students The contest is nationwide, and for the Mid-Atlantic Region, The National Aquarium in DC and the National Aquarium in Baltimore are accepting entries. Want Some Java?
The University of Maryland College Park is offering summer classes in their Java Passport Program. The Java Passport Program is a program for middle and high school students interested in computer programming. The program includes an emphasis on encouraging females, African-Americans, and Latinos to the fields of Math and Computer Science. For more information, click here (external link to MCPS).
Scrapbooking and Cooking Clubs Underway
The Baker Scrapbooking and Cooking Clubs are now meeting after school. For more information, check out the scrapboking flyer or the cooking club flyer.
Outdoor Discovery Programs
The Outdoor Discovery Program is a week-long residential camp that provides youth with an outdoor living experience. The camp acquaints them with Maryland’s state parks while fostering a feeling of responsibility and respect for our natural environment. Check out the website for more details.
